Research Technician - Bernecky group

- € 2,819* gross/month – position limited for 1 year (potential extension)
Your Responsibilities
The Bernecky group aims to understand the varied and complex roles of RNA in cellular processes. We use purification, reconstitution, and biochemical and structural analysis (particularly cryo-EM) to characterize protein-nucleic acid complexes and investigate their function. We are looking for a self-motivated, efficient, and reliable technician to provide research support in the form of purified proteins and reagents. We are looking for a team member to support us with the following tasks:
- Molecular cloning (design and preparation of plasmids)
- Protein expression in E. coli and insect cells
- Protein purification, quantification, and quality control according to established protocols
Your Profile
- University degree in biochemistry or a related subject
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of molecular biology and protein purification
- Experience using ÄKTA chromatography systems for multi-step protein purification
- Ability to perform experiments with high reproducibility and to efficiently organize your time
- Applications should include a short letter of motivation, a CV, and contact information for 2 referees
