Information for Applicants

The Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) in Klosterneuburg was the victim of a targeted cyberattack. 
On November 2, 2022, the Institute was forced to take all servers used for the Institute’s operations offline. Application platforms for our faculty, postdoc- and PhD calls were affected. Please check the status of the calls below:

Annual Call for Faculty
The annual deadline for faculty applications has passed on October 27, 2022. All applications have been received and the institute will proceed with the recruiting procedure as soon as possible. The faculty application portal is closed until further notice.

IST-BRIDGE Postdoctoral Call
As the application submission portal (https://apply.app.ist.ac.at) is currently offline, the planned deadline of November 5, 2022, has been postponed, the call will reopen on Thursday, December 1, 2022, and it will remain open until Sunday, December 11, 2022. Please monitor the ISTA website and social media channels for updates.

ISTA PhD Program
The application submission portal (https://apply.app.ist.ac.at) is currently offline; we currently have no fixed timescale as to when the portal will become available again. It is therefore not possible to apply for the PhD call at this time. We will communicate the new timeline as soon as we have more information.

Virtual Student Open Day – the event is postponed. We will reach out to those who already registered for the event. Please monitor the ISTA Graduate School website (https://phd.pages.ista.ac.at – once operational) as well as the ISTA social media channels for updates.

Onboarding new scientists (interns, postdocs)
The portal is currently offline. We are committed to ensuring that your stay at ISTA starts as scheduled. If you still need to submit documents for your stay, please have your documents ready for submission as soon as the portal opens again. Please monitor the ISTA website, as well as the ISTA social media channels for updates.
