Conflict advisor / Konfliktberatung

Your Responsibilities

As a conflict advisor you will play a critical role in helping employees with handling wokrplace conflicts. In this role, you will act independently from any formal structures and you will serve as an impartial, independent and confidential source who provides guidance to any member of the ISTA community during a conflict situation, fosters open communication and contributes to an organizational culture characterized by trust.

  • Provide an informal and independent space for all ISTA employees (including supervisors) to voice their concerns, issues, or conflicts related to work, ensuring confidentiality and privacy
  • Guide or coach individuals to deal directly with conflict parties, promoting effective communication, and assist in developing and helping individuals to evaluate options and further steps towards conflict resolution
  • Offer guidance, advice, and mediation services to employees, supervisors, and teams to manage conflicts
  • Collaborating in the design of training programs for managers and employees in conflict management, communication and related topics
  • Provide recommendations for conflict prevention measures and be responsible for our Trusted Advisor program or similar prevention programs
  • Document and maintain accurate records of complaints and resolutions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Produce anonymized reports and recommendations based on collected data and observations

Your Profile

  • Professional certifications in conflict management, mediation, or ombudsperson practices
  • Proven, long-term experience as a conflict advisor or a similar role, with a deep understanding of workplace conflict management and mediation
  • Experience in providing training, workshops, or presentations on conflict management, solution-oriented communication etc
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and German
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and tact
  • Neutral, impartial mindset with the ability to connect to each member of the ISTA community and get acceptance among all conflict parties
