Your Responsibilities

Are you passionate about High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Linux systems? We are searching for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong passion for HPC and Linux systems. As an HPC Linux Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our advanced High-Performance Computing cluster. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the stability and performance of the system while working closely with scientists and internal teams to meet their computational requirements.

  • Deploying, configuring, and maintaining HPC clusters running on Debian Linux
  • Managing and optimizing storage systems
  • Configuring and managing SLURM, the workload manager, to efficiently distribute computational resources
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex system issues related to hardware, software, and networking components
  • Collaborating with scientists to understand their computing needs and providing effective solutions
  • Monitoring system performance and resource utilization to optimize efficiency and identify potential bottlenecks
  • Documenting system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for internal knowledge sharing

Your Profile

  • Education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience as an HPC Linux Systems Administrator or a similar role
  • Strong proficiency in Ansible for automation and configuration management
  • In-depth knowledge of parallel/cluster file systems like BeeGFS NFS, and ZFS
  • Familiarity with InfiniBand networking and its implementation in a HPC environment
  • Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, system administration, and shell scripting
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • A passion for staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in the field of high performance computing
