Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Facility
The NMR Facility provides researchers and collaborators with a complete range of state‑of‑the‑art magnetic resonance techniques for structural, dynamic, and quantitative molecular studies. The Facility hosts four NMR spectrometers: a 400 MHz solution‑state system for walk‑in use, and high‑field 600, 700, and 800 MHz instruments equipped with both solution‑ and solid‑state probes for advanced biomolecular, materials‑science, and chemical analyses. An additional 600 MHz NMR – to be installed mid‑2026 – will further expand capability for non‑routine and specialized measurements. A benchtop X‑band EPR complements the NMR portfolio for investigations of paramagnetic molecules.

To use our service, the following steps should be taken:
- Contact us at nmr@ist.ac.at
- All users need to participate in compulsory safety training before entering the NMR hall. Basic or advanced user trainings should be taken before the use of any equipment for the first time. The users should succeed in an on-site practical exam before getting access to the equipment of the Facility.

The NMR Facility is involved in different teaching and outreach events:
